Job summary

Scot Forge seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, improve, and support custom machinery for forging operations across multiple facilities. You will own design development from concept through installation, performing analyses and selecting components to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.

Collaboration with operations and suppliers is essential, with engagement in commissioning and troubleshooting as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
3+ years of machine design or industrial equipment design experience.
Proficiency with SolidWorks and mechanical drafting.
Experience with FEA and machinery reliability is highly preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Design and develop custom machinery, equipment, tooling, and systems for forging operations.
Lead mechanical engineering efforts for capital projects and upgrades.
Perform analyses, component selection, and validation for safety and reliability.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and suppliers to manufacture and install equipment.
Support commissioning, startup activities, and occasional troubleshooting.
