Job summary

Scot Forge, a 130-year-old employee-owned manufacturer, seeks a Process Engineer to translate customer orders into production routings and create process documentation for custom forgings. You will develop manufacturing plans and determine heat-treat and material choices to meet specifications.

The role collaborates with all functions, investigates cost-saving, quality, and delivery improvements, and may require travel to Clinton, WI and Franklin Park, IL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent; 5+ years of experience in technical/manufacturing field.
• Preferred 1-2 yrs. experience in a Process Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering role.
• Strong, detailed oriented, technical writing and communication skills are required.
• Ability to read and interpret complex industrial specifications.
• Technical understanding of material specifications, costing, shop floor terminology and manufacturing processes including CNC methods.
• Must be able to work in a highly collaborative team environment while being self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer orders into production routing and documentation for forged products.
• Investigate alternate process plans to optimize quality, delivery, and manufacturing cost.
• Project manage production processes across functions: metallurgy, heat-treat, sales, and manufacturing.
• Review and release manufacturing documents with quality considerations; ensure plans are executable.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
