Job summary

Afinitas, a BW Forsyth Partners company, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to create functional, easily manufactured equipment designs that meet customer expectations and project schedules.

Responsibilities include developing innovative solutions, coordinating layout, performing design analyses, and producing manufacturing drawings and bills of materials using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree required
• Thorough understanding of: Drafting standards, dimensioning, and tolerances
• Mechanical power relationships such as horsepower, torque, speed
• Strength of materials and structural analysis
• Manufacturing processes
• Ability to perform strength calculations
• Training and/or experience in using AutoCAD or similar CAD software
• Training and/or experience in using SolidWorks or similar 3-D modeling software
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt to shifting priorities
• Attention to detail
• Work individually as well as in a team environment
• Takes personal ownership and satisfaction on quality work

• Evaluate and implement design changes
• Work with manufacturing on build processes and improvement
• Use AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office software effectively
