Job summary

1st St. NW Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop special application machines, robotic systems and fixtures.

You will use SolidWorks to create detailed models and assemblies and act as technical lead on projects. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, design experience with automation or robotics, SolidWorks proficiency, GD&T and the ability to perform FEA and tolerance studies. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Design experience with automation, fixtures, CNC machining, robotics or precision tooling.
• SolidWorks proficiency.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to conduct FEA, stress analysis and tolerance studies.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop special application machines, robotic systems and fixtures.
• Use SolidWorks to create detailed models and assemblies.
• Conduct engineering analysis (FEA and tolerance stack-up studies).
• Act as technical lead on assigned projects.
• Create detailed Bill of Materials (BOMs).
