Job summary

Cindavi is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design custom shell-and-tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and industrial equipment. You’ll own projects from customer specs through drawings, fabrication support, testing, and final documentation while coordinating with engineering, quality, machining, welding, purchasing, and production.

This hands-on role requires strong ASME knowledge, CAD skills (SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Inventor), and attention to detail to ensure manufacturable, compliant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• At least three years of mechanical design experience with ASME pressure vessels or shell-and-tube systems.
• Experience applying ASME Section VIII design requirements to practical designs.
• Experience creating fabrication-ready drawings and BOMs using CAD software.
• Familiarity with pressure-vessel calculations via manual methods or PV Elite/COMPASS-like tools.

Responsibilities

• Design ASME shell-and-tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and related equipment.
• Review customer specs, drawings, and data to develop practical, manufacturable solutions.
• Perform/verify pressure-vessel calculations using COMPRESS, PV Elite, or similar tools.
• Create complete general-arrangement drawings, fabrication details, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with quality, welding, machining, purchasing, and production to answer questions and drive execution.
• Support material traceability, inspection hold points, NDE, hydrotesting, and documentation.
• Identify design, material, fabrication, and schedule risks early to keep projects on track.
