Job summary

National Machinery is seeking a Design Mechanical Engineer to create detailed designs for pressure vessels using SolidWorks, ensuring ASME and customer specifications. You will collaborate with manufacturing teams to achieve manufacturability and accurate documentation.

The role requires strong mechanical design skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work across ERP/CADLink systems to support production and custom projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software.
• Knowledge of fabrication materials and processes (i.e. cutting, welding, machining).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be well organized and have good communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Must have knowledge of the use of hand tools and power equipment.
• Must have good attention to detail.
• Must work well as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and detailed drawings for tanks and vessels, ensuring ASME/JIS compliance.
• Perform engineering calculations for pressure ratings, material thickness, and structural integrity.
• Connect designs with ERP and CADLink systems to streamline production workflows.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Maintain documentation and traceability throughout the design process.
• Provide technical support to sales and customer service for custom projects.
• Support ERP/implementation and other projects as needed.
