What We're Looking For:

My client is currently seeking to fill the position of Mechanical Design Engineer PE to support the design of residential projects. The position can be remote in the central, mountain, or pacific time zones.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to provide comprehensive project reports or detailed designs.
  2. Prepare engineering and design documents using computer-assisted engineering and design software to generate 2D and 3D models and plans.
  3. Assist in the analysis, preparation, or modification of reports, specifications, plans, permits, and designs for projects.
  4. Complete tasks in HVAC, plumbing, piping, fire protection, and utility system design.
  5. Perform routine manual calculations regarding piping design for liquids and gases, such as pressure drop and pipe sizing, and the selection of valves and inline fittings.
  6. Coordinate with other disciplines including civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical engineering to complete detailed designs.
  7. Participate in project site visits as needed.
  8. Assist in Construction Administration by reviewing submittals and responding to contractor requests for information.
  9. Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  10. Perform other duties as requested.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • PE license required.
  • At least 5 years of experience, preferred.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manuals and documents related to the job.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
