Job summary

Calqulate Metrics Ltd in Memphis, TN, is seeking a Design Engineer to lead the design and development of new products for the electric power industry. You will manage the design and development of parts and assemblies, ensuring drawings, specifications, and tests meet requirements.

You will perform FEA, prototype testing, and engineering drawing changes, while supporting Field Sales and coordinating with the engineering team to meet milestones and timelines. A BS degree is required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or ProE).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes preferred (casting, molding, machining, forming, extruding, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop new product part and assembly designs, drawings and specifications.
• Evaluate and recommend specifications and ensure products meet technical and functional requirements.
• Review and analysis of proposed product changes.
• Perform feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs.
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations.
• Manage prototype development and testing.
• Facilitate creation and approval of Engineering drawing changes.
• Recommend and follow reliable, efficient, and cost-effective procedures.
• Write test reports for internal use and for publication.
• Work with other members of the engineering staff to ensure project milestones are met and projects are completed on time.
• Technical support for Field Sales personnel.

Our client is a well established and expanding manufacturer of products for the electric power industry--Due to growth they have an immediate need for a Design Engineer.

The Design Engineer's responsibility is to manage the design and development of new products for the electric utility market as well as manage engineering activities related to maintaining existing products.

• Develop new product part and assembly designs, drawings and specifications
