LVI Associates is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in the United States to lead the design and delivery of complex building systems for a diverse portfolio. The role involves mentoring junior engineers and driving technical excellence within a collaborative design-build environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• PE license preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and plumbing construction documents.
• Experience using engineering design software and CAD platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related building systems.
• Perform advanced engineering calculations, including heating and cooling load calculations, equipment sizing, hydraulic calculations, and friction loss calculations.
• Develop engineering standards, processes, and quality control procedures.
• Evaluate design challenges and determine practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Review design documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
• Support project teams by responding to RFIs and resolving technical issues during design and construction.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related building systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and plumbing construction documents.
• Experience using engineering design software and CADD platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.
