The role focuses on commercial building design and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams, offering a small-team environment with mentorship and local project visibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent design experience.
• AutoCAD experience is required.
• Experience with HVAC and plumbing system design is preferred.
• EIT is a plus; PE license welcomed but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical and plumbing system designs for commercial building projects.
• Produce and modify construction drawings using AutoCAD.
• Assist with HVAC and plumbing system layouts and calculations.
• Coordinate with electrical and architectural teams throughout project development.
• Support projects from design through construction.
• Ensure designs meet applicable building codes and client requirements.

Pay: $70,000 - $100,000+ annually, depending on experience and credentials (PE candidates considered at market rate)

A well-established consulting engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Designer / Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for either a recent engineering graduate looking to launch their career or an experienced mechanical/plumbing designer seeking a smaller, collaborative environment with long-term stability.

This team specializes in commercial building design including restaurants, multifamily, office, and retail projects. If you're looking to escape the bureaucracy of a large firm and work on projects you'll actually see built in your local community, we'd love to hear from you.
