Job summary

LeoForce is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its growing MEP Engineering team. You will work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality building systems that align with client goals, budgets, timelines, and codes.

The role covers schematic design through post-occupancy, with emphasis on design development, construction documents, and construction administration. PE licensure is required for the Engineer title.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
  • 4–8 years of related mechanical engineering experience.
  • PE license required for Engineer title; Designer designation for non-PE candidates.
  • Experience with building codes and sustainability requirements.
  • Experience developing design documentation including BIM models, drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering analysis, mechanical system design, and system selection for building applications.
  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering, sustainability, construction and outside consultant teams.
  • Develop BIM models, drawings, and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate permitting and regulatory documentation with local agencies.

Job Details
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related accredited engineering program required.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is a plus.
  • 4–8 years of related mechanical engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required for the Engineer title; candidates without a P.E. may be considered for a Designer designation.
  • Experience performing engineering analysis, mechanical system design, and system selection for building applications.
  • Strong understanding of applicable building codes and project sustainability requirements.
  • Experience developing design documentation, including BIM models, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience working through schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction administration, and post-occupancy.
  • Ability to coordinate permitting and regulatory documentation with multiple local agencies and jurisdictions.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with architecture, engineering, sustainability, construction, and outside consultant teams.
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions and performance objectives clearly while considering client goals, budget, schedule, constructability, and project performance.
  • Experience conducting research on mechanical systems, products, building codes, and sustainable design practices.
  • Experience with construction-phase activities, including submittal review, construction site observations, and commissioning.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • LEED or other sustainable building certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
