Job summary

Moog's Johnson City, TN team seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to development of space and defense hardware. You will design, analyze, and integrate components, draft layouts, and support test and manufacturing with 3D-printed fixturing and machining inputs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Aerospace/Electrical engineering and hands-on experience with CAD (SolidWorks) and GD&T, plus familiarity with stress/total analysis and design validation in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and/or Electrical Engineering.
• 2 years of relevant engineering experience preferred.
• Experience in design engineering - performance and stress analysis of designs, GD&T, component selection.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the preparation and execution of key design engineering tasks.
• Provide technical support to engineers as needed.
• Provide input on project processes, strategies, and execution.
• Design and draft new and existing development hardware.
• Utilize clean sheet solutions for cost analysis.
• Analyze and modify heritage designs.
• Prepare stress and performance analysis calculations.
• Provide hands-on integration help – machining, 3D-printed fixturing, and integration support.
• Present mechanical design work in program milestone reviews.
