Job summary

Moog Space and Defense Group in Johnson City, Tennessee, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. You will report to the Design Engineering Manager and apply your experience in design, GD&T, and CAD to develop and analyze hardware for space and defense programs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, 2+ years of relevant experience, and hands-on skills in machining, 3D printing, and assembly. Onsite schedule with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and/or Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience preferred.
• Experience in design engineering - performance and stress analysis, GD&T, component selection.
• Experience with CAD programs (preferably SolidWorks) and analysis tools.
• Hands-on experience with assembly of mechanical parts (machining, drilling, fastening, measuring, 3D printing).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the preparation and execution of key design engineering tasks.
• Provide technical support to engineers, as needed.
• Provide input on project processes, strategies, and execution.
• Design and draft new and existing development hardware.
• Utilize clean sheet solutions for cost analysis.
• Analyze and modify heritage designs.
• Prepare stress and performance analysis calculations.
• Provide hands-on integration help - machining, 3D-printed fixturing, integration support.
• Present mechanical engineering design work in program milestone reviews.

Our team in Space and Defense - Power & Data is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join them. You will report to the Design Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Johnson City, Tennessee.

To be considered for the Mechanical Design Engineer, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

Salary Range Transparency
