Job summary

Moog Inc. in Johnson City, TN is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Design Engineering team onsite. You will contribute to design tasks, perform stress analyses, select components, and draft development hardware using CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks.

Expect hands-on assembly, machining, 3D printing, and rigorous design reviews with project teams. The role requires a technical bachelor’s degree and ~2 years of relevant experience, with a focus on reliability and cost-conscious

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/aerospace/electrical engineering or related field.
• 2 years of engineering experience preferred.
• Design engineering experience including performance and stress analysis, GD&T, and component selection.
• Experience with CAD programs (preferably SolidWorks) and analysis tools.
• Hands-on assembly of mechanical parts (machining, drilling, fastening, measuring, 3D printing).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to preparation and execution of key design tasks.
• Provide technical support to engineers as needed.
• Offer input on project processes, strategies and execution.
• Design and draft new and existing development hardware.
• Use clean-sheet solutions for cost analysis.
• Analyze and modify heritage designs.
• Prepare stress and performance calculations.
• Assist with integration and machining of parts, including 3D-printed fixturing.
• Present work in program milestone reviews.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Our team in Space and Defense - Power & Data is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join them. You will report to the Design Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Johnson City, Tennessee.

To be considered for the Mechanical Design Engineer, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

• Bachelor’s Degreein Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and/or Electrical Engineering

• 2years of relevant engineering experience preferred

• Experience in design engineering - performance and stress analysis of designs, GD&T, component selection

• Experience with CAD programs (preferably SolidWorks) and analysis tools.

• Hands on experience with assembly of mechanical parts (machining, drilling, fastening, measuring, 3D printing, etc.)

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

• Contribute to the preparation and execution of key design engineering tasks at Moog.

• Provide technical support toengineers,as needed.

• Provide input on project processes, strategies, and execution.

• Design and draft new and existing development hardware.

• Utilize clean sheet solutions for cost analysis

• Analyze andmodifyheritage designs

• Prepare stress and performance analysis calculations

• Provide hands-on integration help – modifying parts through machining, creating 3D-printed fixturing solutions, and assisting with integration

• Present mechanical engineering design work in various program milestone reviews

Salary Range Transparency:

Johnson City, TN $70,000.00–$100,000.00 Annually
