Intuitive Machines is seeking a Staff Level Mechanical Design Engineer to join our START program in Houston, TX. The role involves developing flight and ground support hardware, coordinating cross-functional tasks, and producing detailed CAD drawings and assembly models.

Formación

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with ≥10 years of design experience.
• Or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering with ≥7 years of experience.
• Experience with CAD software, Creo or SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 and related standards.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent organizational skills.

About The Position

Intuitive Machines is seeking aStaff Level Design Engineer to join our team. This position will support our growing START program. The applicant will be located on-site i n Houston , TX. The candidate will work in a cross-functional team on the development, manufacture, test, and on -orbit operation of flight , and ground support hardware , such as Lunar Lander Structure and secondary systems.

• Design parts for the START team.
• Generate drawings, piece part and assembly drawings using CAD
• Generate lifting and operational procedure drawings and models

Qualifications:

• B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline and minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering design or related discipline;
  • Or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of 7 years of experience
• Experience with CAD software, Creo or Solidworks
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 and related standards
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability and willingness to work under compressed and aggressive delivery schedules

• Minimum 4 years of CAD design experience, portfolio requested but not required

Preferred

• Skilled(6+yrs)in the use of Solidworks and/or Creo
• Understanding of design methodology, basics of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and manufacturing techniques
• Experience with carbon fiber or carbon fiber sandwich panels preferred
