Job summary

Intuitive Machines seeks a Staff Level Design Engineer to join the START program in Houston, TX. The role supports design, manufacturing, testing, and on-orbit operations of flight and ground support hardware, including lunar lander structures and subsystems.

Responsibilities include creating parts, drawings, assembly models, lifting procedures, and aiding manufacturing development. Strong CAD skills and GD&T are required, with a collaborative, deadline-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in mechanical/aerospace engineering with relevant experience.
• Minimum 4 years CAD design experience or 7+ years for MS option.
• Proficiency with Creo or SolidWorks and GD&T knowledge.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 standards and MS Office.

Responsibilities

About The Position

Intuitive Machines is seeking aStaff Level Design Engineer to join our team. This position will support our growing START program. The applicant will be located on-site i n Houston , TX. The candidate will work in a cross-functional team on the development, manufacture, test, and on -orbit operation of flight , and ground support hardware , such as Lunar Lander Structure and secondary systems.

Responsibilities

• Design parts for the START team.
• Generate drawings, piece part and assembly drawings using CAD
• Generate lifting and operational procedure drawings and models
• Assist in developing manufacturing products

Qualifications

• B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline and minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering design or related discipline;
• Or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of 7 years of experience
• Experience with CAD software, Creo or Solidworks
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 and related standards
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred

• Skilled(6+yrs)in the use of Solidworks and/or Creo
• Understanding of design methodology, basics of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and manufacturing techniques
• Experience with carbon fiber or carbon fiber sandwich panels preferred
• Familiarity or exposure to NASA and Mil Spec standards
