Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Mechanical Contract Engineer to support the Application Engineering team in York, PA. The role involves preparing sketches, providing technical direction, and developing design documents for special requests.

Required are a BS in Engineering (ABET-accredited), CAD skills (AutoCAD/Inventor), and strong communication abilities. Travel up to 10% may be needed. A competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering (ABET accredited) or related science.
• Experience and knowledge of HVAC fundamentals is beneficial.
• Willingness to work in the office daily, located in York, PA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to use CAD to produce 2/3D drawings (AutoCAD/Inventor).
• Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
• Strong ability to multi-task

Responsibilities

• Support Application Engineers and sales teams by providing guidance and executing special requests.
• Prepare non-standard sketches and drawings and prepare design documents.
• Provide technical direction to other departments on specific work assignments.
• Provide limited training to others in areas of technical and practical knowledge.
• Work independently with minimal direction and lead in process improvement.
• Develop technical documents to support teams within the business.
• Assist Airside Technical Service with field application issues as necessary.
• Support the factory with issues that may arise from completed special request work.
• Review and analyze engineering rules and documents as necessary.
• Follow codes and procedures related to job.
• Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards
