Job summary

Johnson Controls in York, PA is seeking a Mechanical Contract Engineer to perform a full range of engineering tasks for the Application Engineering team, focusing on special requests and documentation.

You will guide other departments, develop 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD or Inventor, and support field and factory issues while adhering to codes and the company’s safety and ethics standards. Occasional travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering (ABET accredited) or related science.
• Experience and knowledge of HVAC fundamentals is beneficial.
• Willingness to work in the office daily, located in York, PA
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint), as well as Internet software
• Ability to use CAD to produce 2/3D drawings (AutoCad / Inventor)
• Possess strong verbal and written technical communication skills
• A strong ability to multi-task is necessary

Responsibilities

• Support Application Engineers and sales teams by providing guidance and executing special requests
• Prepare non-standard sketches and drawings and prepare design documents
• Responsible for technical direction to other departments on specific work assignments.
• Provide limited training to others in areas of technical and practical knowledge
• Work independently with minimal direction. Independently develops approach to solutions and leads in process improvement.
• Develop technical documents to support teams within the business
• Assist Airside Technical Service with field application issues as necessary
• Support the factory with issues that may arise from completed special request work
• Review and analyze engineering rules and documents as necessary
• Follow codes and procedures related to job
• Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards
