Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support major mechanical and plumbing projects in the Pacific Northwest. You will work with project managers, field leaders, engineers, and detailers to manage scheduling, cost tracking, document control, and subcontract coordination.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management and at least 1 year in a mechanical contracting environment, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Project Engineer with a mechanical contractor.
• Experience tracking construction materials and labor on active projects.
• Experience communicating with subcontractors and clients regarding project schedules.
• Project management experience in a construction environment.
• Construction management experience with an emphasis on mechanical and plumbing scopes.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management support with communication, scheduling, tracking, document control and forecasting of costs and profitability.
• Track, forecast, and report labor hours and material costs for accurate financial management.
• Assist in buyout and procurement of major equipment and subcontracts for timely purchasing.
• Expedite and track deliveries to maintain project schedules.
• Maintain project documents in compliance with standards and requirements.
• Collaborate with field supervision to plan and schedule project work and integrated schedules.
• Review drawings and specifications to support accurate installation and coordination.
• Prepare fabrication shop work packages with material take-offs and budgets.
• Support superintendents, engineers, and management to deliver quality projects.
• Ensure safety program compliance at the jobsite and promote a safe environment.
