Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer at Fort Benning, GA. You will review contractor procedures, participate in the 3-Phase Inspection, and report findings to the Contracting Officer’s Representative.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years in construction inspection, familiarity with HVAC/mechanical systems, and proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and MicroStation. PE license is preferred and U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 4+ years of construction experience.
  • Alternative: high school diploma with 10+ years of construction project inspection experience on large projects.
  • Experience with construction inspection, contract administration, and/or office engineering support.
  • Experience with mechanical/HVAC/plumbing systems and mechanical construction inspection.
  • PE license preferred; USACE or federal project experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with RMS 3.0 is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review contractors' quality management and control procedures on large military installations and report findings to the Contracting Officer's Representative.
  • Attend and participate in the 3-Phase Inspection process.
  • Observe and investigate construction to identify major problems and report findings.
  • Review submittals and provide recommendations on acceptability.
  • Provide written comments on contractor submittals per contract clauses.
  • Evaluate questions and RFIs/RFCs and recommend solutions.
  • Review construction schedules and report findings to the CO’s Representative.
  • Assist with change orders and claims documentation and analysis.
  • Prepare letters explaining deficiencies and corrections to contractors.
