Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support Fort Benning, GA, focusing on reviewing contractor quality procedures and participating in 3-Phase Inspections to ensure contract compliance.

The role requires BS in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of construction inspection, Civil/Contractor experience, and knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation. PE preferred; U.S. citizenship and background screening required. Competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required or related field.
• 4+ years of construction inspection experience on large, complex projects preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience with construction inspection, contract administration, and office engineering support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to interpret drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Review contractors' quality management and control procedures and report findings.
• Attend and participate in the 3-Phase Inspection process.
• Observe and investigate construction and report findings to the COR.
• Review submittals and provide recommendations to the COR.
• Provide written comments on contractor submittals and contractual documents.
• Evaluate contractor RFIs/RFCs and recommend solutions to the COR.
• Review construction schedules and report findings to the COR.
• Prepare and analyze change orders, progress reports, and payment estimates.
• Assist in drafting letters to contractors detailing deficiencies.
• Interpret drawings and specifications and ensure methods meet contract requirements.
• Maintain liaison with DPW and provide project updates to the COR.
• Plan work schedules and ensure safety compliance per EM 385-1-1.
