Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Specialist to join our MEP team in the Tampa, Florida office. This on-site role focuses on commissioning for ongoing construction projects and ensuring systems meet design requirements. This is not a remote position.

Qualifications

• HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical construction experience required.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing/piping, BMS controls & lighting systems helpful.
• Experience with engineering calculation programs and CAD/BIM software
• Documented commissioning training from a nationally recognized body is a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Construction management knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and urgency to meet deadlines.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Mechanical Commissioning Specialist to join our MEP team in the Tampa, Florida (FL) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Provide commissioning related services for MEP engineering projects during construction phases.
• Perform quality checks and inspections on installed systems.
• Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot hardware, sensors, and control panels.
• Track project progress, complete checklists, and log deficiencies or punch lists.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and project managers during startup.
• Write field reports and verify compliance with project specifications

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical construction
• General Knowledge of in the following disciplines HVAC, Plumbing/piping, BMS controls & lighting systems
• Experience in computer operation and the ability to learn engineering calculation programs and computer-aided drafting/BIM software for the purpose of accessing and interpreting design requirements, is a plus.
• Documented commissioning training from a nationally recognized professional body, is a plus..
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Construction Management knowledge
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients
