Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Mechanical Design Drafter to translate engineering concepts into precise drawings for manufacturing in East London. You will work closely with engineers to ensure compliance with standards and project specs, producing high-quality documentation for production and assembly.

The role requires 2+ years of drafting experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks/Inventor, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

National Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
2+ years of experience as a Mechanical Drafter or Designer.
Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, schematics, and layouts for mechanical components using CAD.
Update and revise existing drawings based on engineering changes or feedback from manufacturing.
Ensure drawings comply with company standards, industry regulations, and project requirements.
Prepare BOMs and other documentation for procurement and production.
Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to clarify design intent and resolve drafting issues.
Maintain organized electronic and physical drawing records.
