Job summary

Amentum is seeking a technically capable CAD/Product Definition Mechanical Designer to translate engineering intent into accurate 3D CAD models and drawings. The role focuses on configuration control, BOMs, and documentation for Navy programs, using Autodesk Inventor and related tools.

Responsibilities cover design modeling, drawings, and PLM data management, with field support and travel. A Secret Clearance is required; 3–5 years CAD experience is favored.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on mechanical CAD experience using Autodesk Inventor.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Secret Clearance.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with configuration-controlled documentation and BOM updates.

Responsibilities

• 3D CAD Modeling and Mechanical Design Support for 3D models and assemblies in Inventor.
• Create and support development of 2D drawings from 3D models using Inventor/AutoCAD; ensure accuracy to design intent.
• Support PLM/Digital Twin initiatives; maintain CAD data, BOMs, and revision histories in PLM systems.
• Support fabrication, installation, and field participation; travel up to 25% as needed.
