Job summary

RK Industries is seeking a Mechanical Assistant Project Manager in Fort Collins to support complex mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will coordinate procurement, submittals, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation, while partnering with project managers, superintendents, vendors, and field teams to keep projects on time and on budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 7 years of relevant construction, project coordination, or project management experience.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, project administration, and documentation processes.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, procurement, and cost control.
• Knowledge of mechanical construction project delivery methods and operations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Proficiency with project management software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical projects from kickoff to closeout.
• Manage day-to-day project administration and documentation for successful delivery.
• Assist with contract review, processing, and compliance requirements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting activities.
• Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment to meet schedules and budgets.
• Assist with subcontractor buyout, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Coordinate submittal reviews, tracking logs, and project documentation requirements.
• Support scheduling efforts and maintain updates throughout execution.
• Assist with billing schedules, progress billings, and collections.
• Process and track change orders and related documentation.
• Coordinate labor planning and manpower with project leadership.
• Monitor costs and financial performance across the lifecycle.
• Review supplier and subcontractor invoices.
• Support preconstruction and turnover meetings and coordination.
• Ensure permits, licenses, and compliance documents are secured and current.
• Coordinate communication among owners, contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, and field teams.
• Help maintain project quality, safety, and performance expectations.
• Assist with closeout activities and final documentation.
