Job summary

CONVERGIX Automation Solutions in Michigan, USA, is seeking a Lead Mechanical Assembly to guide the assembly of complex projects and mentor the team. You will travel as needed to serve local clients and coordinate with manufacturing and engineering to apply state-of-the-art solutions.

The role requires a completed apprenticeship in a related field, a high school diploma, and solid machine tool operation knowledge. Five years of experience preferred; join a team focused on quality and innovation.

• Provides customer service.
• Participates in all required meetings, training, and trains new employees.
• Build, tear down, ship, install, and service equipment.
• Generates reports and investigates new projects.

The Role

As a lead to those involved in highly technical and custom work, you are required to be innovative and have a solutions mindset. You should expect to spend at least 10% of your time involved with project-based obstacles and creativity with our customers. Bringing state-of-the-art solutions to the table and guiding the mechanical team to new innovative ideas and creativity. This position reports to the VP of Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Completed apprenticeship in related field


• Basic machine tool operation knowledge


• Five (5) years’ experience preferred


• Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; although this position is focused on local clients and minimal travel is required, you should have the ability to travel within US and International


• Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; Mechanical Assembly Leads at Convergix should have the ability to travel within the US and Canada.

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.


• Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds.
