Job summary

Convergix Automation Solutions in Fayetteville, AR seeks an Electrical Assembly Lead to oversee wiring, panel builds and commissioning of automation systems. You will mentor technicians, review designs for feasibility and ensure safe, efficient assembly in a collaborative environment.

Travel globally is required; you will bridge Production and Engineering, drive improvements and adhere to NFPA 70E safety standards while delivering on project milestones.

Qualifications

• Licensed electrician with ability to lead or mentor assemblers.
• Proven proficiency in wiring and assembly of multi-panel electrical systems.
• Expert troubleshooting of electrical devices; knowledge of PLC I/O, drives, and industrial networks.
• 7+ years in machine building; experience coaching junior technicians and apprentices.

• Willingness to travel globally as project requirements dictate.
• Team player who can also work autonomously and lead others when needed.
• Experience with robotic applications is a plus.

The Role

As an Electrical Assembly Lead, you will lead the electrical build of Convergix’s automation systems from concept through commissioning. Working closely with Engineering and the greater Convergix team, you will plan wiring sequencing, review designs for wiring feasibility, and lead the build of complete machine electrical systems — including panels, cable routing, and I/O — in a collaborative environment. You will coach and mentor Electrical Assembly Technicians and Apprentices, lead resolution of complex electrical faults and non-conformances, and perform onsite troubleshooting, adjustment, and service work for Convergix’s automation systems. As the subject matter expert, you will bridge Production and Engineering — converting field findings into corrective design input — and offer cost reduction and improvement suggestions around the company’s internal standards. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the charge on a safe work environment. Coach and mentor your team on safe work practices.
• Lead the wiring and assembly of complete machine electrical builds, planning sequencing across the team to maximize efficiency and minimize rework
• Interpret complex, multi-panel schematics — including safety relay logic, motor control, and power distribution — and review designs for wiring feasibility, panel layout, and cable routing, flagging discrepancies before they impact the build
• Support commissioning with functional verification of I/O, drives, and industrial network systems, troubleshooting faults and signing off before machine power-up
• Lead resolution of complex electrical faults across control, power, and network systems, reviewing fault history for recurring trends and driving corrective action to prevent recurrence
• Debug entire machine with engineering as necessary, bridging Production and Engineering on assembly and design issues starting in the design process through to SAT.
• Coach and mentor Electrical Assembly Technicians and Apprentices on craft skills, wiring standards, and safe work practices; sign off LOTO verification on critical electrical equipment handoffs
• Install and service machines when needed
• Must be able to travel globally as per project requirements
• Facilitate team huddles and coordinate communication between electrical and mechanical teams; document key decisions for shift handovers
• Manage team schedule and coordinate with other leads to resolve conflicts, adjusting work sequence as needed to protect delivery milestones; use the Skills Matrix to set development targets and track team skill progression
• Perform any additional reasonable tasks as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Licensed electrician or a technician/technologist/engineer with a penchant for hands-on work, with demonstrated ability to lead or mentor other assemblers.
• Proven, independent proficiency in wiring and assembly of complex, multi-panel electrical systems, including planning and leading complete machine electrical builds
• Expert in troubleshooting of electrical devices, with working knowledge of PLC I/O, drives, and industrial networks
• 7+ years of experience in machine building, including experience coaching or leading junior technicians and apprentices
• Must be knowledgeable in the proper use and selection of tools and equipment, and in LOTO and electrical safety (NFPA 70E / arc flash) verification requirements
• Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; An Electrical Assembly Lead at Convergix should have the ability to travel globally.
• A team player who also possesses the drive and responsibility to work autonomously, and to lead and coach others, when required.
• Exposure to robotic applications.
• Prior experience formally training, mentoring, or supervising other technicians.
• Works well with a variety of different people from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including experience facilitating team meetings or huddles.

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
• Occasionally lifts or move up to 40 pounds.
