Job summary

The Switchgear Power Systems in Winneconne, WI is seeking a Mechanical Assembler for the weekend shift. You will assemble and install mechanical components for custom electrical equipment, following drawings, BOMs, and work instructions. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and adherence to SPS quality standards.

Hours are 6:00am–6:00pm Friday through Sunday (36 hours, paid 40). The position offers paid training, starting pay of $23/hour, two weeks of PTO, and a team-oriented manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety/quality.
  • Follow instructions and work independently or in a team.
  • Occasional overtime as needed.
  • Preferred: experience reading drawings/blueprints and measuring layouts.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install mechanical components per drawings and BOMs.
  • Verify parts against BOMs for accuracy.
  • Measure, layout, drill, fasten, and install components with hand/power tools.
  • Read drawings, blueprints, and visual aids.
  • Identify and report material, design, or quality issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement and other production needs.

Position Description

The Mechanical Assembler- Weekend is responsible for assembling and installing mechanical components used in custom electrical equipment. This role works from drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and work instructions to ensure equipment is assembled safely, accurately, and to SPS quality standards.

Hours: 6:00am-6:00pm, Friday- Sunday (work 36 hours, get paid for 40)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble and install mechanical components according to drawings and work instructions.
  • Verify parts and components against BOMs for accuracy.
  • Measure, layout, drill, fasten, and install components using hand and power tools.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and other visual aids.
  • Identify and report material, design, or quality issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement and other production needs assigned.
