Job summary

GE Vernova’s Gas Power manufacturing facility in Greenville, SC is seeking a hands-on Assembly Technician to join our team on the 2nd shift. You’ll assemble, calibrate, and inspect subassemblies and final units, using precision measuring tools and blueprints while following strict safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 2–5 years of related experience, can read blueprints, perform shop math, and work overtime or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–5 years of related assembly experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, perform shop math, and use precision measurement tools.
• Flexibility to work 2nd shift and overtime when needed.
• Must pass background check and drug screen; authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, align, adjust, and fit subassemblies and parts using tools per work instructions.
• Calibrate, test, and inspect sub-assemblies or complete units.
• Maintain tooling and equipment per process docs.
• Conduct precision measurements with micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.
• Collaborate in lean, safety, and productivity-focused team environment.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and efficiency standards; log data as required.
• Work overtime and occasional weekend shifts as needed.

What You’ll Do:

• Assemble, install, align, adjust, and fit subassemblies and parts using appropriate tools and fixtures per work instructions
• Clean parts using acetone, braze assemble components per work instructions
• Perform preset calibration and final testing on sub-assemblies or complete units
• Clean parts and maintain tooling and equipment per work instructions
• Perform precision measurements using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.
• Collaborate in a team environment focused on lean manufacturing, safety, and productivity.
• Take ownership of compliance, safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Utilize computer programs to enter part data (e.g., serial number), log time, look up instructions
• Utilize work instructions, set-up sheets and method documents to correctly set up machines and inspect machined parts.
• Ability to work overtime, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work occasional weekend shifts, with or without reasonable accommodation

What you’ll bring:

• Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. 2-5 years of related work experience.
• Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints, perform shop math, and use precision measurement equipment.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work 2nd shift (2 PM – 10:30 PM, M-F) and overtime when needed.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and wear PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.). with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
