Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an entry-level General Assembly candidate for the Gas Power Manufacturing plant in Greenville, SC. You will assemble, calibrate, and test subassemblies, operate with lean principles, and help maintain quality and safety in a team environment.

Willingness to work 2nd shift (2 PM – 10:30 PM) and pass background/drug screenings is required; HS diploma or equivalent, and basic blueprint reading skills are preferred.

  • Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent; prefer 1+ years related work experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: Read blueprints, perform shop math, use precision measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, align, adjust, and fit subassemblies and parts using tools per work instructions.
  • Perform preset calibration and final testing on sub-assemblies or complete units.
  • Clean parts and maintain tooling and equipment per work instructions.
  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.
  • Collaborate in a team environment focused on lean manufacturing, safety, and productivity.
  • Take ownership of compliance, safety, quality, and efficiency.

What You’ll Do:
  • Assemble, install, align, adjust, and fit subassemblies and parts using appropriate tools and fixtures per work instructions

  • Perform preset calibration and final testing on sub‑assemblies or complete units

  • Clean parts and maintain tooling and equipment per work instructions

  • Perform precision measurements using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.

  • Collaborate in a team environment focused on lean manufacturing, safety, and productivity.

  • Take ownership of compliance, safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Utilize computer programs to enter part data (e.g., serial number), log time, look up instructions

  • Utilize work instructions, set‑up sheets and method documents to correctly set up machines and inspect machined parts.

  • Ability to work overtime, with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Ability to work occasional weekend shifts, with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Required to wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs and safety shoes, with or without reasonable accommodation

What you'll bring:
  • Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. Prefer 1+ years of related work experience.

  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints, perform shop math, and use precision measurement equipment.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work 2nd shift (2 PM – 10:30 PM).

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and wear PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.). with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
