Job summary

Aprilaire in Minneapolis, MN is seeking an assembler to assemble and inspect mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies using JOLs and electronic drawings, following DriSteem quality standards. You will work across stations, handling sanding, cutting, drilling and painting and perform daily cycle counts to ensure accuracy.

The role emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, Lean/Kaizen activities, and teamwork, with a focus on maintaining a clean, safe work environment and compliant processes.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Prior work experience a plus.
• Basic computer knowledge such as ability to operate a computer, tablet, and any other form of electronic software.

Responsibilities

• Assemble product from electronic drawings and electronic JOLs to assemble product and inspect assembled units.
• Use hand or power tools, or fixtures as required to assemble product.
• Prepare parts as required by sanding, cutting, drilling, painting, etc.
• Work different workstations on assigned product line.
• Perform daily cycle count.
• Continuously strive for product and process improvements that meet or exceed our customer requirements as well as being compliant with ISO 9001-2015 policies.
• Support Lean activities including Kaizen Events and 5S.
• Keep supervisor and Cell Lead informed of job-related problems and other information related to work activity including the Kaizen Newspaper.
• Maintain positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, and management.
• Ensure work area is maintained in a neat and orderly condition.
• Ensure all processes are safe for employees, ergonomically correct and comply with OSHA requirements.
• Report all safety concerns to their Lead, Supervisor or Safety Committee Member.
• Operate computer, tablet, and other electronic devices.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull moderate weights.
• Perform related work as apparent or assigned.
