Pratt & Whitney is hiring for a 3rd shift assembly role in Wilson, NC. You will learn to set up, assemble, and load parts, using basic hand tools and machine tools, while following procedures and quality standards.

Responsibilities include identifying defects, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and contributing to efficiency improvements. The position requires a high school diploma or GED with CRC strongly preferred; manufacturing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical education preferred.
• CRC strongly preferred; manufacturing experience is a plus.
• We prefer manufacturing experience and CRC certification for this role.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

• Learn to set up, assemble, and load parts.
• Demonstrate proper use of simple hand and machine tools with basic troubleshooting around machine set up and function.
• Learn to accurately read and follow procedures, routing, and other work instructions.
• Responsible for quality product standards with no defects.
• Able to identify part defects and elevate as needed.
• Responsible for building parts that meet customer deadlines and expectations while maintaining established safety and quality standards.
• Responsible to comply with applicable elements of quality systems and have working knowledge of how they apply to the product being produced.
• Participate in cost reduction plans and continuous improvement plans/events, as required.
• Participate in audits with positive communication practices.
• Acquire applicable skill/knowledge/certifications as required.
• Responsible for tracking and staying compliant with site training and recertification requirements.
• Maintain materials, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Responsible for participating in Daily, Weekly, and Monthly cleaning activities.
• Rotate to different workstations throughout shift as business needs change.
• Complete assigned tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
• Check work methods and results for conformance to standards and re-instruct as required.
• Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• You Must Have: Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.

• Career Readiness Certification (CRC) strongly preferred.
