Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, seeks a dedicated assembler for electrical units in Phoenix, AZ. You will assemble and repair electronic units using prescribed techniques, identify parts, solder components, and document results to ensure quality and traceability.

Onsite, 2nd shift 2:30 - 10:30 pm with training 6:00 am - 2:30 pm for ~60 days. Must have HS diploma or GED and good English reading/writing skills. Prior experience in aerospace assembly and IPC Class III certification are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires HS diploma or GED with related technical education and 4+ years of experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Experience reading engineering prints and component data.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and repair electronic units using prescribed techniques.

What You Will Do
  • Assemble and repair a variety of electronic units using prescribed repair techniques.
  • Identify correct parts, components, wires, and materials needed for assembly and repair.
  • Solder electronic components using industry-standard techniques and tools.
  • Remove suspect and failed components and install new components accurately.
  • Operate assembly machines and ensure proper functioning.
  • Measure, mix, and apply chemicals and adhesives according to safety and operational guidelines.
  • Read and interpret technical data including component maintenance manuals, assembly instructions, and engineering prints.
  • Communicate work status to team members and support staff, ensuring seamless workflow.
  • Document clear and concisely and maintain accurate records.
  • Utilize computer skills and office software applications.
  • 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 2:30 - 10:30 pm Training Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm for ~60 days.
Work Environment

You may occasionally need to provide weekend and holiday support to meet customer needs. In your role, you will be exposed to: Products of various weights and sizes, Equipment with moving parts, Chemicals that may emit fumes. To minimize safety risk to you and product, you must wear static-control and personal protective equipment.

Physical Demands
  • Due to the nature of our work, you will need to be able to perform the following functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Distinguishing colors and meeting vision requirements.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, turning as needed to place units in test stands, pick up totes, place units on rack, etc.
  • Using hands for extended periods of time to perform testing and troubleshooting tasks (e.g. grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting, fine manipulation).
  • Must be able to stand for 2 hour increments without an opportunity to sit.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Transporting product with or without product carts.

You Must Have
