NEOTech in Chatsworth, CA is seeking an Assembly Technician to build mechanical housings and assemblies for stand-alone and PCB-containing products. This role involves standing for long periods, using hand tools and spray equipment, and following drawings and instructions to ensure quality.

You will work with IPC standards, read blueprints, maintain workstation inventory, and participate in 6S and safety programs.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 0–6 months of previous experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow basic drawings, diagrams and instructions.
• Willingness to learn IPC standards and assembly processes.

Responsabilidades

• Read, interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams and specifications to assemble equipment.
• Use handheld tools, torque drivers and drill guns as required.
• Maintain and organize inventory at workstations.
• Spray conformal coating using spray gun or brush.
• Perform quality checks to ensure product meets standards.
• Identify defects and document findings.
• Rework or repair assemblies per engineering changes.
• Follow MSD handling and 6S safety requirements.
• Assemble mechanical housings with electronics and cables.

Assembly of mechanical housings, systems and hardware for both stand‑alone products and products containing printed circuit board assemblies. Primary work is conducted while standing utilizing hand tools (powered and manual), machinery or applicable materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
• Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw and drill gun
• Maintain inventory of product in workstations
• Ability to spray Conformal coat using both a spray gun and or brush
• Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
• Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
• Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
• Adhere to all requirements and Board Handling.
• Use of Moisture Sensitive Device (MSD) handling requirements based on the components’ moisture sensitive levels (MSL).
• Read and interpret assembly instructions, drawings and work instruction processes.
• Identify hardware, wire assemblies, sheet metal and plastic components.
• Work with miniature to large components that may require visual magnification.
• Integrate electronic assemblies and cables into mechanical housings.
• Use various hand tools (pliers, rulers, cutters and pneumatic tools such as torque drivers, torque wrenches and screwdrivers).
• Support and follow the Quality Management Systems. These systems may include, but are not limited to, quality, the environment, health, safety and security.
• Support all corporate and site 6S objectives.
• Perform all other duties, as assigned.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to utilize electronic manufacturing system
• Knowledge of IPC-DVD-64C Component Identification preferred
• Ability to train to IPC-A-610
• Sense of urgency, successful at meeting deadlines

Qualifications

• 0-6 months of previous experience preferred
• Ability to work on single task / procedures / products.
• Highly repetitive or routine duties,
• Ability to support 1-2 product lines / customer(s)
• Normally receives detailed instructions on work
• Works under close supervision
• Computer proficiency required

Physical Requirements

• Perform general physical activities
• Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours
• Monitor processes, materials and surroundings
• Spend time making repetitive hand motion
• Mechanical aptitude/dexterity and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs
