Title: Mechanical Assembler ILocation: 811 Fourth Street, West Des Moines, IA 50265**Duration: 6 months possible temp to perm ****Pay Rate: $19/hr on W2 | (1ST SHIFT (7AM - 3:30 PM CST)**Pay Rate: $20/hr on W2 | (2ND SHIFT 3:30 PM - 12 AM CST)Job Description:Mechanical Assembler I is an entry level position. The purpose for an operator at this level is to gain a basic understanding of deburring and air grinding operations. Operators must obtain a basic level knowledge to deburr and clean parts in a manner necessary to produce precision parts with direct supervision by a more senior Mechanical Assembler with Deburring Certification (level II or above). Follows established standard work under general supervision in efforts to obtain certification within 120 days.Essential Responsibilities:Learn how to maintain and operate deburring tools.Learn how to read blueprints to verify work was completed properly.Accurately complete production documentation and performs necessary labour transactions.Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by your leader and position.Actively participates in the Continuous Improvement process as well as safety related activitiesWorks under immediate supervision. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.Develops basic job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.Tasks are routine/ repetitive in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making.Operates hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment.Over 40 hours is required as scheduled to meet business needs.All other duties as assigned including working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business.Willingness to work nonstandard hoursSome Holiday hours may be required based on business needWorking extended shifts/overtime as required by the businessEducation/Certifications:High School Diploma or equivalent required.
