Job summary

Jarp-Industries in Wisconsin is seeking a Mechanical Assembler for the first shift (full-time). The role involves assembling, testing and painting hydraulic cylinders, swivels and components under supervisor guidance, with a 6:00am–2:00pm schedule.

You should read blueprints, maintain parts identification, work alone or with others, manage priorities, and adapt to ongoing production tasks. A high school diploma and manufacturing exposure are preferred; pre-employment screening applies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review build list and packets to start assembly.
• Locate parts and verify position per drawings.
• Check prints and specifications for correct assembly.
• Follow work instructions and customer specs for assembly.
• Assemble per instructions and verify against requirements.
• Escalate discrepancies with the proper personnel.
• Set up torquer for assembly/disassembly tasks.
• Prepare testing setup and run final product tests.
• Record results on test logs and document outcomes.
• Note shortages and report to appropriate staff.
• Clean and inspect assembled parts.
• Maintain part identifications throughout assembly.

Description:

Mechanical Assembler (1st shift, Full-Time)

$19.00–$23.00/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:00pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Team Leader, the Mechanical Assembler will assemble, test and/or paint various types of hydraulic cylinders, swivels and/or components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. 1. Review the supervisor’s build list, obtain shop packets and review packet contents.
2. 2. Check system for location of parts and retrieve.
3. 3. Check print for proper assembly of the required components.
4. 4. Review the work instruction, print and “J”/customer specifications for proper assembly techniques.
5. 5. Assemble product per items number 3 and 4 above.
6. 6. Contact the proper personnel when there are discrepancies between parts and prints.
7. 7. Set up and use torquer for assembly or disassembly of product.
8. 8. Set-up the appropriate test stand to properly test assembled product.
9. 9. Conduct final testing and record on the correct “test log”.
10. 10. Report any shortages to the proper personnel.
11. 11. Wash assembled product as required.
12. 12. Maintain identification of all components during the assembly process.

MARGINAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. 1. Assist with ongoing continuous improvement efforts.
2. 2. Take cylinders/swivels off- line and pre-package for shipment.
3. 3. Perform other duties as assigned; material handling, shot blasting, parts washing, janitorial, cylinder assembly-test-paint and product packaging.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. 1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 2. Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

1. 1. Must be able to read blue print.
2. 2. Possess organizational skills.
3. 3. Ability to work alone as well as with others.
4. 4. Self-starter with the ability to take on multiple projects.
5. 5. Skilled in establishing priorities and managing workload on a daily basis.
