Job summary

SpecSys Inc. is hiring a Mechanical Assembler in Minnesota to build and test mechanical components per drawings and specifications.

You will follow controlled documentation, assemble hydraulic actuators, and ensure products meet customer requirements while maintaining quality standards. Shifts include 4 ten-hour days and 5 eight-hour days with flexible start times; benefits cover health, retirement and life insurance, disability, and employee programs.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
  • Math skills to solve problems and improve assemblies.
  • Read and understand written information and work orders.
  • Identify problems and review information for quality.
  • Follow detailed drawings, schematics and customer specs.
  • Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds and standing long hours.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles mechanical components into controls of moderate complexity per documentation.
  • Assembles hydraulic actuators by hand with hand tools and processes.
  • Identifies assembly sequences to minimize unproductive time.
  • Ensures products are built and tested to meet customer requirements.
  • Tracks parts shortages and coordinates with purchasing.
  • Coordinates workload with project manager for ECO changes.
  • Provides input into QC process improvements.

Job Summary

Mechanical Assembler

Salary Range

$18.00 to $27.00 per hour

Flexible Schedule

4 10-hour shifts and 5 8-hour shifts with flexible start times.

Responsibilities
  • Assembles mechanical components into controls of moderate complexity by following controlled documentation, standards and specifications
  • Assembles hydraulic actuators by hand using hand tools bending tubing, drilling and taping
  • Identifies appropriate assembly sequences to minimize unproductive time
  • Ensures products are built and tested to meet customer requirements
  • Identifies component shortages and coordinate parts tracking with purchasing / material handling department
  • Coordinates work load with the assigned project manager to ensure design changes ECO changes are implemented into the overall assembly process
  • Provides input into QC process improvements
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of designing, using, and repairing machines and tools, computer hardware and software, building machines, and using plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Math skills to solve problems
  • The ability to read and understand written information
  • Can identify problems and review information
  • Has ability to understand and follow detailed drawings, schematics, assembly drawings, customer specifications and assembly procedures
  • Can lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical schematics
  • Can stand for 8 hours plus per day
  • Understands and follows work order instructions including sign-off of assembly department dispatches
  • Understands and follows existing quality control processes
  • Has any combination of education and experience that provides the required skill and knowledge for successful performance
