Kelly Services in North Charleston, SC is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team. You will build electrical and mechanical assemblies from detailed drawings and schematics, working on a second shift with training leading to full performance.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork in a clean ISO-compliant environment. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of assembly experience, strong reading of prints, and proficiency with handheld power tools.

Qualifications

• Ability to read assembly prints, schematics, and fabrication drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual assembly skills.
• Experience in production line assembly and handling wiring work.
• Advanced experience using handheld power tools and drills up to 65 in-lbs torque.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical and mechanical products to completion using detailed electrical drawings and schematics
• Interpret and work from electrical and mechanical assembly fabrication drawings
• Work independently while meeting production schedules
• Participate in shop clean-up to maintain a safe and organized workspace
• Collaborate with Shop Leads regarding quality issues and production schedules
• Support coworkers and assist with other assigned tasks
• Follow all ISO 9001 Quality System requirements
• Communicate and work closely with Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety teams to ensure all safety and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in assembly (including building assemblies, sub-assemblies, and wiring components)
• Proficient in reading and interpreting assembly prints, schematics, and fabrication drawings
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proven skill in physical assembly of parts
• Experience in production line assembly and handling fine component and wiring work
• Advanced experience using handheld power tools and drills capable of up to 65 in-lbs torque
• Ability to stand for extended periods, manipulate objects with hands, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance
