Job summary

Aerotek, Lebanon, KY, is seeking a Mechanical Assembler for a contract-to-hire role. You will assemble and disassemble large mechanical components for mining equipment, install hydraulic hoses, inspect gears/bearings, and perform MIG or Flux Core welding.

Shift options and onsite work in Lebanon, KY are provided. Qualifications include two years of mechanical, hydraulic, and welding experience; ability to read blueprints; and fabrications/repairs.

Mechanical Assembler

Job Description: Join a dynamic team where you will be responsible for assembling and disassembling large mechanical components for mining equipment. Your tasks will include mounting sub-assemblies, installing hydraulic hoses, inspecting gears and bearings, setting backlash on gears, and setting preload on bearings. You will also be involved in assembling shuttle cars, battery haulers, feeder breakers, continuous miners, and mechanical sub-assemblies, along with performing necessary welding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble large mechanical components to mining equipment.
• Mount sub-assemblies and install hydraulic hoses.
• Inspect gears and bearings, set backlash on gears, and set preload on bearings.
• Assemble shuttle cars, battery haulers, feeder breakers, continuous miners, and mechanical sub-assemblies.
• Perform welding tasks using MIG or Flux Core techniques.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with hydraulics.
• Proficiency in welding, specifically MIG or Flux Core.
• Ability to troubleshoot gears, bearings, and blueprints.
• Fabrication and repair skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Two years of mechanical, hydraulic, and welding experience on heavy equipment or automotive transmissions/systems.

Work Environment

Work in a well-kept shop, though tasks may involve dirty mining equipment. Choose from available shifts, including a second shift option. The environment is non-climate controlled. First shift runs from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with voluntary overtime available. Benefit from increased pay rates for overtime, Saturdays, and Sundays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lebanon, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
