Job summary

T5 Data Centers seeks a Mechanical Apprentice to diagnose, maintain, and repair electro‑mechanical systems in our data centers. The role requires hands‑on experience with plumbing, steamfitting, pipe fitting, refrigeration, and air‑conditioning.

Responsibilities include break-fix on HVAC and hydronic systems, PMs, equipment inspections, and contributing to site failure reporting. Strong teamwork and physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs are essential.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in the trade.
• Formal training from an approved vocational program.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, lift up to 60 lbs, and use hands/arms for manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Break-fix of electro-mechanical systems (HVAC, hydronics, appliances, doors, air compressors).
• Inspect/repair spill and leak detection systems.
• Perform PMs on HVAC and hydronic systems and maintain components.
• Schedule team tasks and requisition materials.
• Contribute to site failure reporting and equipment logs.
• Provide mechanical project support and maintain heat exchangers.

Job Summary

Mechanical Apprentice – responsible for the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of electro‑mechanical systems in our data centers. This position requires hands‑on experience and a strong foundation in plumbing, steamfitting, pipe fitting, refrigeration, and air‑conditioning.

Responsibilities

• Break‑fix of all electro‑mechanical systems (HVAC, hydronics, appliances, roll‑up doors, dock locks, air compressors, etc.)
• Spill and leak detection system inspections/repairs
• Hydronic rack cooling (Deschutes) maintenance and commissioning
• PMs on HVAC and hydronic systems (pumps, strainers, cooling towers, etc.)
• Team scheduling and material requisition
• Contribute to site failure reporting (Equipment Status Log)
• Mechanical project support
• Clean in place on heat exchangers
• Chiller tube inspections and cleaning
• Site plumbing maintenance/repair
• Eyewash stations/shower maintenance
• Forklift maintenance
• Gas valve PMs

Qualifications

• At least one (1) year of experience in the trade
• Formal training in approved vocational schools covering fundamentals of the trade
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift up to 60 lbs, reach, grasp, push, pull, and use hands/arms for manual tasks
