Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group in Tulsa, OK seeks an Applications Engineer to bridge engineering and sales, focusing on configuring and customizing products for customer needs. A solid mechanical engineering background and advanced SolidWorks experience are essential.

You will translate requirements into manufacturable product configurations, support CPQ tools, and ensure solutions meet engineering and production capabilities. Some travel may be required, and collaboration with sales and engineering is key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering design, product development, applications engineering role, or related technical roles.
• Ability to work effectively within cross functional teams; plan and execute; detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills; proficiency in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM, including configurations and design automation/documentation with PDM systems; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; communicate effectively with customers, sales teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• What would put you ahead: Master’s degree in engineering; experience with MathCAD, AutoCAD, AutoPOL, and CFS; wind load/foundation/soil calculations; crash-rated products and product validation; knowledge of standards and building codes; hydraulic/electrical/PLC systems; CPQ tools or product configurators.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales and applications engineering teams to develop configurable product solutions.
• Create and maintain SolidWorks models and configurations to support quoting and sales activities.
• Develop tools, templates, and documentation that streamline product selection and customization.
• Interpret customer requirements and translate them into viable product configurations.
• Support the development of CPQ systems.
• Ensure all configured solutions comply with engineering standards and manufacturing capabilities.
• Provide technical support and training with documentation to sales teams regarding product configurations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to product configuration and sales enablement.
• Ability to work effectively in office, manufacturing, and customer-site environments.
