Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Mechanic Millwright for our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) site. The role involves installing, repairing and rebuilding complex machinery, including Test Loops, with laser alignment and precision instrumentation.

A four-year Millwright apprenticeship or an associate degree in mechanical technology is required, plus four years of repair experience and US citizenship for DoD access.

Qualifications

• High School graduate with four-year Mechanic Millwright Apprenticeship or two-year Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology.
• Four years’ experience in Millwright repair; lathe, milling, boring mill experience.
• U.S. citizen due to DoD requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install, move, reconstruct, repair and rebuild machines and major site equipment.
• Repair or modify Test Loops and day-to-day repairs.
• PM work includes laser alignment.
• Repair machine parts as required.
• Operate a lathe and milling machine and machinist equipment.
• Handle tools and materials including precision levels, laser transit and related instrumentation.

1st Shift: 7:30 am to 3:30 pm or 2nd Shift: 3:30 pm to 11:30 am or 3rd shift: 11:30 pm to 7:30 am

Your Challenge

• Install, move, reconstruct, repair and rebuild machines and major site equipment requiring planning and improvisation of methods.
• This includes day-to-day repair, modification and/or replacement of Test Loops.
• PM work includes laser alignment.
• Machine repair parts as required.
• Mechanic’s hand tools, portable power tools, material handling equipment, pneumatic winches, hammer drills, large power hoists, ladders, scaffolds, cable slings, precision levels, laser transit, monitoring equipment including instrumentation, and pressure gauges.
• Operate a lathe and milling machine, and required machinist equipment. Use department communication devices.
• All types of machine tools, such as, but not limited to conventional equipment, numerical-controlled equipment, boilers, pumps, and all types of raw materials, i.e., structural steel material, bar and flat sock, soldering and other metal joining materials.

What You Bring

• High School graduate plus completion of a four-year Mechanic Millwright Apprenticeship or a two-year Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology
• Four years’ experience working in the Mechanic Millwright repair field. Prior machining experience, such as lathe, milling machine, boring mill, etc.
• Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
