Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a Truck Shop Mechanic to maintain and repair semi trucks and trailers in a fast-paced setting, with emphasis on safety and compliance with Tyson policies.

You will perform preventative maintenance, read maintenance orders, and apply basic mechanical skills across shifts to keep equipment in service. This role requires physical stamina and reliable communication.

Qualifications

• Six months of operator experience with one employer in the last 12 months.
• Three to five years of related experience in industrial settings.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational diploma preferred.
• Rehire criteria and limits apply as per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers.

Job Description

This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Applicants will be considered for any Truck Shop Mechanic opening.

Tasks

• Must supply own tools for minimum maintenance.
• Must be able to use basic electrical, pneumatic and hand tools.
• Minimum 1 year basic mechanical or maintenance skills including PM on equipment, oil changes, greasing, repairing or replacing semi tires, brake repair or replacement on semi - trucks and trailers, and minimum 1 year experience operating cutting torch and electric welder.
• May perform air brake, electrical and air conditioning work.
• Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 20 feet, bend, stretch, reach, work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
• Must be able to read and understand assignments.
• Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Must have six (6) months operator experience with one employer in the previous 12 - months.
• Three to five years related experience with at least three years in an industrial setting/relevant work experience.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent to include Technical or Vocational Diploma preferred, or combination of equivalent experience and education in a related field in lieu of a Dipolma.
• Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
• Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
