Job summary

Transdev in DeKalb, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician C (I) to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across vehicles and equipment. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and longevity of the fleet.

This is a non-CBA position offering competitive hourly pay and standard benefits. Qualifications include 3 years as a mechanic, ASE certifications, a mechanic’s tool set, and DOT-related testing as applicable.

  • 3 years of experience as a Mechanic.
  • ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
  • DOT drug testing and physical may apply per DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
  • Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and determine repair strategies for diesel engines.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components.
  • Other duties as required.

Maintenance Technician C (I)

Transdev in DeKalb , IL is seeking a C-Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $19.75/hour– Maximum $24.50/hour
Benefits include:
  • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.

Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience as a Mechanic.
  • ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided
  • Mechanic’s Tool Set
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  • Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
