Job summary

RTC is hiring for a Maintenance position at our Romeoville, IL facility. The role supports the Maintenance department with general tasks, scrap processing, and audits, while coordinating with recycling vendors. You will operate floor scrubbers and an aerial work platform, maintain a clean shop, and follow 5S standards.

• Minimum 1+ years of building maintenance experience.
• Clear written and spoken English communication skills.
• Willingness to expand skills and knowledge.
• Experience conducting maintenance audits.
• Ability to drive company truck or personal vehicle with valid DMV record.
• Experience operating floor scrubbers.
• Familiarity with aerial platforms and working at heights.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work with external vendors and contractors.
• Commitment to safety, professionalism and quality.
• Flexible start/finish times and overtime when required.
• Union position with hourly pay

Responsibilities

• Complete general tasks in support of the Maintenance department.
• Process and recycle plant scrap material in an efficient manner.
• Serve as the main point of contact between RTC and recycling vendors.
• Complete various types of Maintenance audits.
• Assist with truck run operations.
• Assist with floor scrubbing operations.
• Utilize an aerial working platform to complete Maintenance tasks.
• Maintain the cleanliness of facility grounds.
• Maintain the Shop in a clean and orderly manner in accordance with 5S standards.
• Work in a safe manner, follow all safety rules and report any potential safety hazards to management.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related building maintenance experience.
• Must be able to effectively communicate and have a proficiency in writing and speaking English.
• Must be capable and willing to increase skill set.
• Capable of completing various types of Maintenance audits.
• Must be able to drive the company truck, personal vehicle, and have an approved DMV record.
• Must be able to operate company floor scrubber.
• Must be able to operate an aerial working platform and work at heights of 35+ feet.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, kneel and twist.
• Capable of proficiently working with outside vendors and contractors.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner with a high level of professionalism and quality.
• Must be flexible with start and finish times and available to work overtime when needed.
• This is a Union Position and Pays $20.60/HR
