Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Satisfactory completion of Employer approved physical examination
• Work experience or post secondary education and/or technical training in the field of Heavy Duty Mechanics
• Ability to meet State requirements including Class B CDL with A, S, P endorsements
  • Or willingness to obtain when hired
• Knowledge of transportation systems

Performance Responsibilities:

• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance on District vehicles ensuring vehicles are maintained at an optimum level
• Maintain a clean and safe environment following State and District standards and procedures
• Perform snow removal duties as assigned
• Assist with bus fleet: washing undercarriage, and overall through bus washing
• Follow detail usage and instruction manuals to complete tasks efficiently and with accuracy
• Maintain accurate and detailed records and reports
• Exhibit professionalism through punctual and reliable attendance
• Other duties as assigned by Head Mechanic and Director of Transportation

Reports To: Director of Transportation (Robin Lott)

Preferred Work Hours: 11 a.m to 5:30 p.m. (6 hours per day/30 hours per week = part-time).

Compensation: According to the negotiated Master Agreement with the Mt. Pleasant Transportation Association: (Starting at approximately $17.00 per hour and based on experience).
