Job summary

Wyo-Ben, Inc is seeking a Mechanic Helper to join our mining operations team at the Magnet Cove Bentonite Plant. This outdoor role focuses on field lubrication, maintenance and repair of heavy mining equipment, haul trucks and facilities, with safety as a priority.

The position requires CDL with Tanker, Doubles and HazMat endorsements, basic welding, and a mechanical mindset. We offer a competitive wage, benefits, and opportunities to advance while working outdoors in varied conditions.

Qualifications

CDL with Tanker, Doubles, HazMat endorsements required.
6 months to 1 year of preventative maintenance experience preferred.
General mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment.
Basic welding and metalworking skills.
Basic computer and math skills.
Strong communication and recordkeeping abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, lubrication, fueling, and inspections on mine equipment.
Diagnose and repair heavy equipment and haul trucks.
Identify and repair electrical issues, hydraulic hose failures, and oil leaks.
Use computer diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment problems.
Perform welding and basic fabrication work as needed.
Complete pre- and post-shift inspections and PMs.
Communicate maintenance needs and safety concerns to supervisors and team members.
Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally responsible work area.
Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.
