Job summary

Wyo-Ben Inc., headquartered in Billings, Montana, seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep our plant and equipment running safely and efficiently. You will perform routine inspections, repairs, and fabrication work to support daily operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 6 months to 1 year of mechanical experience, and a valid driver’s license. Welding and metalworking skills are a plus, with a strong emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.
• Welding and metal‑working experience preferred.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and servicing of dryers, mills, conveyors, and other plant equipment.
• Repair, adjust, and replace mechanical components as needed.
• Assist with fabrication, welding, and metal work.
• Support maintenance of rolling stock and mobile equipment.
• Identify and report safety, quality, environmental, or equipment issues.
• Work closely with maintenance and production teams.
• Follow strict safety guidelines and company procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do:

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Work indoors and outdoors in variable weather
• Regular exposure to moving machinery and industrial environments
• Work at heights and in awkward or confined spaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, occasionally up to 100 lbs
• Sitting, bending, standing, walking, 8-10 hours per day.
• Must be able to self-assign work duties and meet reasonable deadlines.
• Required use of PPE and participation in the Respiratory Protection Program
• Willingness to work irregular hours and respond to after‑hours call‑outs
