Job summary

Aerotek in North Charleston, SC is seeking a Skilled Mechanic to support ship repair projects aboard active vessels, performing disassembly, cleaning, inspection preparation, and reassembly of mechanical systems.

You will work with hand and power tools on a Monday–Friday schedule from 5:45 AM to 2:15 PM with overtime available, and this contract-to-hire role offers opportunities to advance within a large ship repair company. Onsite role based in North Charleston, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical experience in ship repair, industrial maintenance, or heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work aboard ships and in industrial environments.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and performing physical work.

  • Follow all shipyard safety requirements and inspection standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, inspectors, and shipyard personnel to ensure quality work.

Job Description

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
