Job summary

Tessera is seeking a Mechanic, Forklift in Silverdale, WA to diagnose, repair, and overhaul Material Handling Equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and lifts. The role supports maintaining safety and performance standards across the fleet.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years forklift experience, a valid forklift license, and a commitment to safety. The position is full-time with comprehensive benefits and security clearances where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Identify and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in forklifts and related MHE.

• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used.

Tessera is seeking a Mechanic, Forklift to diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including forklifts, pallet jacks, aerial boom lifts, and scissor lifts. This position plays a vital role in maintaining operational readiness and ensuring all equipment meets safety and performance standards.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• Identifies and resolves mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems in forklifts.


• Performs routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance.


• Using diagnostic tools and software to pinpoint and resolve issues with forklifts.


• Maintains accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used.


• Ensures all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards.


• Repairs and maintains the operating condition of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including forklifts, pallet jacks ranging from 2,000 to 70,000 lb capacity, aerial boom and scissor lifts.


• Dismantles and reassembles equipment to OEM specifications and Navy standards, using various lifting equipment, hand and pneumatic tools.


• Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.


• Basic rigging procedures may be required.


• Examines equipment and parts for damage and wear using calibrated measuring tools.


• Repairs and replaces electric, diesel, propane or gasoline MHE and components such as air systems, cooling systems, starting and charging systems.


• Repairs vehicle chassis, electrical systems, drive trains, brake systems, and hydraulic systems.


• Repairs and rebuilds broken parts and structural members using welding and other fabrication techniques.


• Operates and inspects machines and equipment to diagnose component defects and performs repairs.

Qualifications:

• Highschool Diploma/GED required.


• Minimum 3 years of operating a Forklift.


• A Forklift License is required.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


• May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.


• Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.


• Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

• A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
